Wishes 4 Kids exists to grant wishes for children and youngsters in Leicestershire who are life limited, terminally ill, have experienced life-changing physical or emotional traumas, have suffered major abuse or are diagnosed as HIV Positive. Our charity grants wishes for those of eighteen years and below. Every wish we grant means the world to the children and their families. For example, we've helped a five year old who wanted to drive a steam train, a teenager who wanted to meet Britney Spears, three young people who wanted an audience with Pope Benedict XVI, a young man who wanted to spend a day fishing with Matt Hayes and a young person who wanted to take off and land on water. Sadly we do not have a magical cure for the suffering of these youngsters, but we can bring a short period of respite. The time when a child has a wish granted is a moment that will be treasured by them for the rest of their life. It is also a time which parents will remember – that moment when their child's excitement and wonder overtook their suffering. Whatever a child's wish may be, it is our challenge to make it come true. We do this with the phenomenal support of our ever growing community of fundraisers. From charity bake sales to swimming with sharks, our communities have helped us to grant over 4,500 wishes. You too can get involved by fundraising for us and help make a child's dream come true.
