Children's Heart Surgery Fund
Leeds, UK
The Children's Heart Surgery Fund supports children and adults born with Congenital Heart Defects and their families. As well as valuable equipment, resources and research, CHSF offers an important support service for both the children and their families along the way. Based at the Leeds General Infirmary, CHSF covers the regions of Yorkshire, Humberside and North Lincolnshire. Around 400 children from these regions need open heart surgery every year. We aim to ensure these children have the best possible chance of survival and to help their families in whatever way needed during their stay in hospital. Our work is overseen by a board of Trustees – made up of clinical staff, parents and business leaders. We raise money to help the children’s heart unit at the Leeds General Infirmary provide superb care for its young patients and their families, but our work doesn’t stop there. More than 40% of the children who have an operation will need long-term care, and each year 10,000 children pass through the unit. We support them every step of the way – from womb to adulthood. Our aim is to ensure that these children have the best possible chance of survival. We work hard to give every child a childhood... We’re able to help because of your support. Thank you!
