We aim to include, inform and inspire people with disabilities, long-term health conditions and their family and unpaid carers in Berkshire and surrounding counties. The Ark's purpose is to; 1. Work with local people with disabilities and/or long term conditions, and their carers and young people not in education, employment or training. 2. Support the community and voluntary sector in the area of operation of the charity, for the benefit for the public and to ensure the equality for all people to engage in citizenship. The Ark aims to: 1. Advocate the value of and to enhance lives. 2. Provide information, advice and practical support to both individuals and voluntary sector groups 3. Use creative arts, digital and new media as a means to inform the wider community on disability issues 4. Promote user led organisations Some of our larger projects include social groups, supported employment and volunteering, a community transport service, the Bracknell Forest carers service, SIGNAL, as well as a HIVE of volunteers proving an emergency community response and support to our local NHS through vaccine centres and other health programmes.
