How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, TSB Bank has donated money and volunteer time, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Purfleet Food Project

King's Lynn, UK

We are aiming to make sure that people can come in and eat at least two meals a day. We have an experienced cook who works with a team of volunteers to produce nutritious meals from food donations. We also run a project called Purfleet Pantry where people can join our membership club to be part of a scheme giving them access to cooking lessons, health and nutrition sessions and weekly grocery parcels. We are aiming to eradicate food poverty amongst our clients and the wider community and to provide coaching around nutrition, health and well-being.

Second Helpings Stamford

Stamford, UK

We collect surplus food including food which has reached its best before and use by date from suppliers. Using this food, we prepare and serve nourishing meals in our Pay As You Feel Café at Barn Hill Methodist Church every Saturdays 12pm-1.30pm alongside our Pantry and Community Fridge. Inspired by Adam Smith's 'Real Junk Food Café' in Leeds and frustrated at the amount of good food wasted whilst people go hungry, Second Helpings Stamford opened in October 2015 as a Church and Community Project. We take perfectly edible raw materials from supermarkets, farms and personal supporters in and around Stamford that would otherwise go to waste. This produce is available to the community daily from the Pantry and the Community Fridge, and in delicious, wholesome meals in the Saturday Café where we serve an average of 70 people each week. We are staffed by volunteers and all our food is available on a pay-as-you-feel basis. Stamford Methodist Church is a busy, family oriented church close to the town centre. Committed to inclusivity and social outreach the premises are used by a wide variety of groups from the congregation and the local community.

TSB Bank Neighbourly campaigns

TSB Bank Volunteering

Thanks so much for your interest in Volunteering! It has a huge role to play in delivering TSB’s Do What Matters Plan and is a great way to live our values and bring to life our purpose of Money confidence. For everyone. Everyday. There is so much potential to drive greater community impact and we want more colleagues to use their annual 8 hour allowance. In 2025 we are encouraging TSB colleagues to use their skills and enable as many as possible to help in our local communities. To support this, we will be running volunteering campaigns throughout the year and helping you match, your individual or teams time, with the needs of local good causes.

The Extra Hour 2026

This October, when the clocks go back, we don't just gain an hour of sleep - we gain a gift of time. Neighbourly is inviting the employees of its volunteering partner businesses to put this ‘extra hour’ to good use – by supporting a local charity or community organisation on the Neighbourly platform. Join the campaign and spend your Extra Hour doing something Neighbourly!

TSB Community Fund 2025

At TSB we’re committed to helping people and communities thrive. Through our Do What Matters Plan, we focus on the issues where we can drive real change - giving more people confidence with money, supporting victim-survivors of domestic abuse, empowering young adults, and recognising the vital role of unpaid carers across Britain. That’s why we’re proud to launch the TSB Community Fund, a £250,000 one-off pot of money designed to support the charities and community groups making a difference every day. Working with our partners at Neighbourly, we want to back local and national organisations that are supporting the individuals and communities who need it most.
