Carpenters Café, started by some residents of Carpenters Estate and Trinity Chapel London. The project opened on 5th June 2007 initially as a feeding project targeting the homeless. However over the years, as a result of the current economic climate, we now support a wide variety of groups which include anyone needing a helping hand. We also receive and send referrals to other organizations to provide support. Carpenters Café main objectives are:- • To provide a dinning place that is warm, clean and friendly where people can come and sit, make friends and share a meal • To give free of charge, hot or cold drinks, sandwiches, fruit and vegetables and food packs subject to availability. • To share out household items, clothing, footwear, books, etc that have been donated to Carpenters Café for the benefit of the needy. • To offer support and encouragement with access to computer facilities for job search and basic IT training. • Volunteering services include distribution of advice and information leaflets on healthy eating and lifestyle, a foot pampering session on the last Tuesday of every month and art classes every other Tuesday. The service is delivered by a strong team of volunteers who are reliable and supportive of the charitable aims of the organisation and who share a desire to offer help and assistance to people. Sustainable Merton’s Community Fridge is located at Morden Baptist Church. We redistribute local surplus food back into the community, reducing food waste and supporting access to food. The Community Fridge is open to everyone, just turn up! Opening times: Monday 14:00 - 15:00 Wednesday 16:30 - 17:30

Start Up Stirling is a registered charity serving Stirling in Central Scotland. We assist and support families and individuals experiencing homelessness and financial hardship by providing home starter and wellbeing packs, as well as running food banks rural crisis food support across the Stirling area. We help those in need in the following ways: - provide basic home set-up items to local people who have been homeless and are starting again in a new tenancy. These packs improve the chances of individuals and families of retaining their tenancy - help to reduce stress and financial burdens when moving from homelessness to a new home - provide items which help with the transition into temporary accommodation - promote and encourage a practical community response to homelessness and financial hardship - provide food packs at point of crisis and offer support for three weeks for those who are unable to access other forms of support - support for those experiencing housing difficulties and finding it hard to cope - we help them settle into the community, offer a listening ear and link them with other helpful agencies - offer volunteering opportunities for individuals from all corners of our community We train our volunteers regarding confidentiality, boundaries and listening, and we provide ongoing support. All we ask is that you are willing to participate in the training, and be willing to listen, share, laugh and be a friend. :) We are always looking for volunteers and have a number of different roles - driving, warehouse, foodbanks, rural deliveries, support services, fundraising, office support and wee projects. In addition we always need additional manpower around the festive period.
