Looprun Slough

Slough, UK

Looprun is a response division and part of an independent social enterprise called Glass Mill Social Enterprise C.I.C. This is more than food and is part of a platform called RSBA1 (Response, Sustain, Build, Achieve). A free supportive services platform to help people get back on their feet. With up to 94% success rate and seeing once those receiving free Looprun response bags to returning to stores as shoppers with baskets full. These are the happy stories created when all come together to do good for good. Service users are signposted to Looprun mostly from referrals including professionals in social and healthcare. Looprun provides free non perishables, perishable food, toiletries, and clothing to people facing a challenge. Whatever you can do is turned into a grateful donation to a neighbour in need. As everything given and everybody counts. No food is banked providing a direct in and out service. We believe if the food is stored then a person in need is not getting any food, hence we provide an instant response and instant impact service. Looprun food donations can include fresh fruit, vegetables, bakery items and non perishables. Looprun has access to professional volunteers who carry out a confidential support service to people in need. From homeless shelters, hostels, sheltered housing, care homes and schools. This is a non voucher, free and confidential service. This means Looprun can reach more people in need with your food donations. Therefore we need your help to ensure we can supply the demand in this crisis. Anyone that receives a Looprun bag of essential food items is sustained thus creating a loop cycle. We, therefore, are a platform for a voice to be heard in the community and share life changing stories. It would be great to have more partners become part of these stories in your local community. Looprun has also expanded into providing toiletries and brand new items of clothing. For further information and gallery access on the impact of Looprun please visit: Website: www.loopruninstore.org

Blaen-y-maes Drop-in Centre

Swansea, UK

The Blaen-y-maes drop in centre is open 4 days a week, we have foodshare and a foodbank, every Tuesday and Friday, our foodbank is independent and rely on donations, to keep running it, and helping out families and individuals. We have an over 50s group which is run on a Thursday between 11am and 1pm.We run free family activities during half term, and free training courses. We are currently selling pre-loved clothing and bric a brac items from our community clothing shop, that have been donated from the community. The money we take at the community shop goes towards paying the running costs, which helps keep the centre open . We have an informal drop in centre where , Free tea and coffee is available for those who want a chat or informal advice and signposting. Our community shares with the rest of Wales in the recession and Government benefit cuts. We aim to address this issue by distributing free food through hampers that we receive monthly, food share items that we collect locally. Our service is self funding through recycling clothes we are run and staffed by volunteers and our building is provided by the local authority. We also have a litter picking hub, where the community can come snd help tidy up the area, on our litter picking events. A lovely community garden for anyone to drop by, help maintain the garden or come and have a chat and a cuppa.

InterSystems UKI Volunteering

The primary goal of our corporate volunteering programme is to empower colleagues to get involved in activities that resonate and have a positive impact in the local and regional areas we operate in. This initiative is designed to encourage and support colleague participation in volunteering activities coordinated by InterSystems that contribute to our local communities and enhance professional and personal growth. By participating in volunteering, colleagues will have the chance to feel more connected to our local communities, meet new people, collaborate with people from different teams, and create a real impact in areas that matter to us all. Volunteering has been proven to be a huge source of personal satisfaction and motivation. It offers opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and a sense of fulfilment. Engaging in volunteering activities can enhance teamwork, boost morale, and foster a positive company culture.
