Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice Inpatient Unit Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough and the surrounding area and provides expert palliative care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families. We are also the only unit with a multi-disciplinary team which includes doctors, nurses, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, complementary therapy, bereavement counsellors, and psychological and spiritual support Our 20-bed hospice is surrounded by beautiful, tranquil countryside which complements the specialist care and support we give to those with life-limiting conditions and their families. Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice at Home In addition to our inpatient unit, our day service helps people living with long term conditions to avoid unnecessary trips to hospital, as well as offering social opportunities alongside others experiencing similar circumstances. We also offer a Hospice at Home service for people in the local community who prefer to receive palliative care at home. Our expert team includes doctors, nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational and complementary therapists, social workers and bereavement support workers. They all work seamlessly together to support people through the most difficult times of their lives. Sue Ryder Regional Grief Kind Space Grief Kind Spaces - a safe, informal and supportive place Our Grief Kind Spaces are weekly, in-person drop-in sessions held in the local community and run by trained volunteers. The sessions provide a safe, informal and supportive place for people to come together and share their experiences of grief, helping attendees to feel heard and less alone. The sessions are welcoming, inclusive and open to anyone who is over 18 and has experienced a bereavement, whether you want to attend regularly to connect with others in similar situations or just drop in for a quick chat. The spaces are volunteer-led, with volunteers receiving training and guidance to help attendees connect with each other and share their experiences of grief through peer-to-peer support. Whether somebody is dealing with a terminal illness or the loss of a loved one, we’re there when it matters. Sue Ryder staff and volunteers provide people with the compassion and expert care they need, to help them live the best life they can. Emmaus supports people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion by giving them a home, meaningful work in a social enterprise, support, training and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. Emmaus communities provide a home for as long as someone needs it, alongside support to deal with any issues they may have experienced, such as mental health or addiction. Regaining control over their life also means they can rebuild relationships with loved ones and look forward to a brighter future. With Cadent’s support, Emmaus communities will help even more people to rebuild their lives after homelessness.
