Take steps to plant trees in East London
London, UK
Join us to plant 70 trees of many different varieties in our wonderful park in East London. You'll connect with like-minded volunteers, make lasting friendships and leave behind a legacy that will help offset our community's carbon footprint for many years to come... Background: The Pavegen ALIVE Initiative is something that Pavegen set up in 2016 to focus on creating something sustainable and enabling our Pavegen clients to work with us to build something that last beyond the activations we create and inspire future generations to think differently about our environment. For every tile which is rented with their support we donate a tree to the local community & schools. We had great support last year from Adidas, Ogilvy, Las Vegas Arena & Unilever to plant 70 trees. The trees are native trees and each tree will have a unique What3Words address so that you can track the digital life of the tree using the What3Words hashtag. @Pavegen #PavegenALIVE Meath Gardens: Meath Gardens is a well-loved park in East London. Families enjoy making memories here and children look forward to exploring the play areas after school. You can usually find a team of football or basketball players laughing and keeping active together. Our park's Gothic entrance is a welcome reminder of the park’s Victorian heritage. Come and help plant new trees that will form part of our community’s sustainable future. The gardens have a fascinating story. Originally a Victorian Cemetery, the park was given a new lease of life by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association. During the transformation, an area of the gardens was thoughtfully set aside for playground equipment - and the park remains a child friendly haven to this day. It's a family friendly destination that's important to lots of local residents, who often don't have their own back gardens. It means a lot that they have a green place where they can gather together, relax and play in the open air. A couple of months ago, we were proud to receive our very first green flag, proving that we're one of the UK's favourite parks and green spaces! We're honoured to be a space where people feel welcome in the midst of our bustling borough. In a city of exciting technological development and innovation, protecting and developing our green spaces is the smart thing to do! See you then!
