Larkhall Athletic FC is the latest community group to benefit from being neighbourly

8 July 2015
Bristol, 08 July 2015: Neighbourly’s leadership team is delighted to announce it is supporting Bath’s Larkhall Athletic FC in its goal to increase participation in sports within the local community.Larkhall Athletic, an FA Charter Standard Community Club (the first to gain this standard in Bath), is a friendly, accessible and inclusive club that has been at the heart of the local community for over 100 years. The club is a well-run, volunteer-led organisation that invests widely in the local community, especially in young people through its fully integrated youth teams. This inclusive approach has fuelled success in the club’s top teams. The club was promoted from the Western League First Division to the Premier Division in 2008, won the Western League title in 2010, won the Western League title and league cup in 2014 and was thereby promoted to the Southern League Division One, South & West in 2014.Even though Larkhall Athletic FC now plays at the highest level of football in its history, it is very important to the club to retain its community spirit and local engagement, especially through its flourishing youth teams – and that’s exactly what the team at Neighbourly loves.Luke McKeever, Executive Chairman at Neighbourly says, “This is the first project that we’ve backed ourselves via our new ‘Friends of Neighbourly’ page.  Since the very beginning the Neighbourly team has had numerous friends and associates ask whether they can make a more personal contribution.  Our Friends of Neighbourly page is a brilliant way of bringing them together”.Nick Davies, Founder at Neighbourly, adds, “We see many fantastic causes. It’s important that individuals and businesses back causes that matter to them. When we saw Larkhall’s objectives around encouraging youth and community engagement in sport, it was something that the leadership team here wanted to get behind. And as a bonus we get to see the company’s name on the first team shirts.”Paul Rankin, Chairman of Larkhall Athletic Football Club, comments, “When selecting a partner we wanted an organisation that reflected our own values and aspirations. It’s great that Neighbourly saw our request for support and wanted to help. We could not have a better partner to help us with Larkhall Athletic FC’s aspiration to be a true community club accessible to all.”
